MIRO 6,2 Optocoupler

21 Augustus 2007

Murrelektronik has expanded its product portfolio in the field of interfaces. Top news and freshman in the range: The Compact MIRO 6,2 optocoupler with a switching capacity of 6A. What has long been standard on the MIRO 6,2 relay is now available as an optocoupler – this comes with many benefits.

Previously, the Murrelektronik range covered optocouplers with switching capacities of 0.5A, 1A, 2A, and – after a wide gap – 10A. The new MIRO 6,2 optocouplers with a switching capacity of 6A are a significant addition to this range. They open up additional options and degrees of freedom in plant and machine installation.

MIRO 6,2 optocouplers with 6A have no derating. This means that, even at high ambient temperatures of 60°C, they really switch 6A. On conventional relays, the switching capacity tails off much sooner.

The optocoupler is a strong player specially in DC applications. Comparable relays with a switching capacity of 6A only have 1A left at DC13 (classification in conformity with EN 60947). On the other hand, the MIRO 6,2 optocoupler retains a switching capacity of 6A even at DC13. The new optocouplers do what they claim to do: If it is marked with 6A, then 6A is what they deliver.

Optocouplers are irreplaceable as disconnectors and couplers in many control tasks. They are not subject to mechanical wear. As a result, they are ideal in applications that require high switching frequencies. Their short switching times are an optimized factor in timecritical applications. They also cause no switching noise.
